Cole Lyons · Healthcare analytics & workflow evaluation

I follow healthcare problems from the front line to the data.

I help healthcare teams and their implementation partners reconcile conflicting reports, evaluate workflow changes, and turn findings into decisions they can explain.

Clinical work, research, and building systems have shaped how I ask those questions.

A problem to try · Synthetic data

One report says eight.
Another says five.

What is each one counting? Look at the records, make a judgment, and see how the difference can be explained.

What experience taught me

A wheelchair can reveal a system.

In clinical work, a wheelchair that did not fit made the distance between a visible problem and an institutional response concrete.

In my writing on patient safety, I follow that distance: what staff can see, what leadership can act on, and what happens in between.

Follow a question

Three ways into the work.

01

What helps a patient reach care?

Start with the message, then follow the outreach pathway and the route to the clinic.

02

What does the evidence actually establish?

From counting appointments to evaluating a change and tracing a claim to its source.

03

How did I learn to build?

Computing, science, and the lessons that became personal on the clinical floor.

Penn AQM Customer Service Workshop Evaluation

Evaluating a training intervention with a matched comparison group, while keeping measured language distinct from patient experience and preserving uncertainty.

Independent research · Founder and operator

From public data to usable evidence

Determining what public sources support, preserving identity and provenance, and distinguishing working components from a complete path whose evaluation remains ahead.
